Found this nice dragon drawing in a sketchbook and assumed I'd scanned it ages ago and thought it would be cool to try colouring it. 

But all I did was ruin a nice drawing.

In seriousness, I might work on this some more I dunno. It's just a dragon. I draw millions of them. I've got to stop being scared of ruining art and just get on with it.

But it was stupid to think I could just pick up watercolours and make them work without trying when I ain't touched them in months.

A couple of weeks ago I fancied practising drawing buildings and using watercolour. I'd been collecting reference images of medieval and piratey style buildings.  This is an observational drawing based on this awesome rendering. 

I like the brick detailing on the bottom front of the building but the rest is a bit pants actually...

Watercolour and watercolour pencil, from photo reference. This started horrible and got better too, which is a running theme with me. Still not great, and I need to learn to stop putting in so many background details.

New mixed media painting. This one is of a street in Greenwich, London, from a photo I took a couple of years ago. Went for that murky rainy grungy look I usually go for... It portrays London how it really is - beautiful, but... well, pretty dirty and run down. But that's kinda what makes it special, with the usual miss-match of architecture from different periods and styles, being used for purposes for which they were never intended.

Mixed papers, gel mediums, acrylic, watercolor and ink on watercolour paper. Prints shall be available soon.

A couple of meh watercolours I did this morning. I seem to really struggle with the idea of detail in the foreground and not in the background. Seems simple in my head, but... never seems to work out.
