Experiments with text. want the text to look like it's a part of the image, not stuck on in photoshop, but also want the freedom of using photoshop. Bah.

Two somewhat more considered images for the resistance project which may indeed become the final poster... with some digital tweaking. I sort of want to make a few more, with Halal/Kosher slaughter images in them, so I guess it depends on time now. Going to experiment with text on printouts of these images. I've also finished the sketchbook, yay! But with only a week left on this project I'm reluctant to start a new one. Farts. Also, do I keep these in their current state, or do I flip them to make the words legible? Idon'tknow. I feel like it adds to the confusion and chaos having the text backwards, but I may be loosing out on some vital communication?
Alex managed to get a shot of my work on display at our uni show. Thanks Alex!

Here's some recent giftart. Was playing around with watercolours and pencils to find a quick method of colouring. Saffron for Brad and Renegade for Rachel.

Also a Stellar sketch for Kyle.

The photos of the aggressive protests after the Danish cartoon controversy are too good not to use, but It's hard to get a balance of the religions because the visual representations of the shit in Catholicism and Christianity in general aren't so blatant. (Except those by Westboro...) Don't trust floating peadosmiles.

Think this is quite a lot better. Struggling to get the blue the same on the back though :C

Alex posted a link to this and I couldn't resist the urge to to make an image with a magpie. No idea what I'll do for the back really and I hate the text. I have no eye for type.

Religious belief appears to give some individuals the excuse to hold prejudice views and insight hate. Discrimination should never be tolerated, regardless of traditions or belief.

I'm not specifically attacking the Pope here, I'm just experimenting with visual ideas about silencing such vocal discrimination, and removing the presumed right to be a homophobic, sexist, racist, hypocritical (etc...) arsehole because an ancient text told you it was moral.

I'm also by no means asserting that all religious people are like this, it's a small minority that behave this way.
I made a dinosaur from felt.

Don't ask.

Lecturers are encouraging us to use blogging more, which is fine by me. Here's some early ideas work for http://studentawards.dandad.org/2010/html/dontpanic_34.html

Looking at resistance against religion. This will give me no chance of winning the competition, but I think makes the point stronger. Religion is the last excuse left in our tolerant society to back up prejudice and stop advancements and that's why I'm intolerant of it.
