#25

A scribble of a raptor.

And a painting of a dragon that I've started.

About time I stopped pansying around with experimentation and tried to "finish" something.

#23

This drawing every day thing is heading in the direction of being a chore already.

Some anatomy studies, subject was a lion. Figured it would help me understand how real creatures are built and move a little better if I reference this stuff regularly. References from this awesome website.

Stuff and eugh.

I'm an idiot and somehow overwrote the file for this, so... It stops here. Shame, it was going pretty well.

I should really look at anatomy more... I really like horse skeletons and the way they move.

And draw Morb with facial expressions other than his usual grin...

I haven't drawn sonic in aaaaaages.

Corel Painter Essentials 3

Found Corel Painter Essentials 3 on a disc. Decided to try it out. It's jolly good fun!

This was the first attempt. And omg It's awful. I don't know how I even got that far with it...

...Eugh. From a random photo from google.

Then I liked the colours in this awesome photo, so had a faff with that.

Then a skull, referenced from a photo I think I found on Wiki. This is the best of the bunch, by far, but that's probably because I'm so used to drawing skulls.

And another awesome photo that i decided to try for perspective practise... And then ended up painting on.

BLLEEEAAAARRGH!

DSG thingy, but it's not very accurate to the description. I think he's awesome though.

Stellar

This is Stellar Jay... He is a Sonic universe character designed for a friend. He's a STELLER'S JAY, if it wasn't obvious. And his power is light. Yup.

The coloured piece is an old sketch I thought I'd try some stuff out with and the sketch is from today which shows how out of practise I am at drawing these characters. Gawd.

And showing some updates on dimetrodon, as if I'll ever finish it. It occurred to me how inaccurate it is anyway and has put me off.

28 Days Later

Check this out... http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/index.php

Derelect stuff is cool. And I should reference more of it. And enviroments. I should reference them more too.

Probably are better ways to go about painting this sort of thing, but environments are not my forte and to be blatantly honest I just don't have a clue where to start. So I tried a few things, established it wasn't going well, and eventually put the pen down.

Title.

Yeeeeah, I like Dimetrodon. And it's silly back legs. Have a WIP.

Don't have a clue what this is, mostly just playing with brushes and colour. That is always fun.

Bagger 288 is awesome.

More observational photoshop paints from photos. A croc and a giant digger... Bagger 288 is fit. Need to draw more man-made things.

Et dimetrodon, because I've linked to dimetrodon's wiki page so many times over the past few weeks, using it as an example of a transitional lifeform in evidence of evolution, and it's snout is so cool.

Pirate ship obsession is back...?

Another quick photoshop paint.

I like orange too much. I also suck at composition and complimenting colours.

Phish

Went to the aquarium the other day, took some pics. Used several as a reference for this tablet painting.

Dunno if it's work in progress or not. It was more an attempt to see if I could get the colours and feel right. The shark is more developed than the fish, so maybe I should add to it.

Cheap

Digital painting under scanned sketches that you've already seen...

I suck at combining concentration on colour AND tone at the same time, so these are like cheap ways to practise getting that depth of colour.
