More environments from photos. This one in gouache. I think the colours are a lot better than usual for me in this.

And this, this is the result of about 2 hours trying to pay attention to perspective. I'm proud of it. Might be boring, but, big step for me... I used a RULER today. A pikachu one.

Initial ideas for a jungle temple ruins themed attraction area.

Observational drawings from photos of various environments. Still trying to do at least one, preferably more, every day.

And a fairly interesting dragon from a boring side view with no body just so everyone knows I havent had a brain transplant.

These are from the last few days since the last upload. There are more, but they are even worse or even more mind-numbingly dull, so I'll spare you their awful unfinished scribblyness. Most of these are of Angkor Wat, which I think I may use as the inspiration for part of my next project. I'm not sure I'm getting better at drawing entire spaces and not just specific things, but I'm not so terrified of doing it in that "I don't know where to start!!!" way, which is a start... Right?

2011 is the year I learn how to draw environments. I suck at them, but my next project will demand them. Fml. Got a sketchbook that I intend to fill with them. These are just from random photos, need to get out and draw from life.

Saturday 1 January 2011

It's been a while, I know. I've been working my arse off on uni stuff and, like I said a few posts back, I didn't want to post every little detail of what I'm making.

That said, here are some images from a zine (How "indie" of me.) I'm doing as a mini project about disregarded places in London. This is a subject I keep returning to. These are mixed media, essentially gel transfers coloured in with acrylic paint.
